I’ve been a creative all my life. My artistic endeavors have ranged from drawing to fiber art. While quilting (if strictly defined as the stitching together of batting between two layers of fabric) is not something I grew up with, sewing (especially embroidery and applique) is. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I got into quilting. Like art, it was something I loved doing, but felt that I couldn’t fully pursue. Until now.
With the advancements of technology, and the many changing phases of my life, I’m finally seeing possibilities of what I can do with quilting and art; hence, I didn’t want to put off any of my creative pursuits and decided to delve back into quilting. I’ve always loved creating, designing, fabrics, and of course the artistic possibilities of what could be when I let myself play around and just see what could be. While I’m not a complete novice to quilting, I do not consider myself as an experienced one either. There are so many skills and techniques that I need and want to learn. So, with this new year, I am taking ownership of the creative life that I want to lead and to move toward that vision. I’ll see where this takes me. I hope you’ll enjoy coming along, and even if you don’t quilt, hopefully, this blog will provide some form of entertainment.
